Bronze Medal winning coffee for the Best Food Service Plunger in the 2011-2012 New Zealand Coffee Awards
Region: 30 minutes drive from San Salvador city, Central El Salvador
Variety/Cultivar: Red Bourbon
Altitude: 1400m - 1500m
Harvest: 2011 - 2012
In the Cup:
Delicious citrus acidity, similar to that of limes, with a sweetness that is reminiscent of homemade hokey pokey. It finishes with a cherry and blackcurrant juicy mouth feel lingering on the palette with surprising length.
We recommend brewing this coffee through a Chemex. The filter paper removes a lot of the oils during the extraction process and you’re left with sweet liquid gold – a juicy fruit punch dream beverage. Clean and crisp, this is great first thing in the morning or late at night, it’s that easy going.
If you don’t have a Chemex, still have it black using any non-pressurised technique and you’ll be impressed.
