La Nueva “The New” was named by owner and 3rd generation coffee farmer Rafael Duch Martinez.

From cultivation and harvesting to processing, Rafael oversees the entire process. His farming strategy is very sensible, pruning only necessary branches when needed to allow an even distribution of sun and shade on the cherries, allowing the fruit to ripen slowly and at its own pace. Rafael acknowledges the micro climate as a part of the success of his coffees, they are located on the “Golden Belt”, of Santa Ana Volcano.

In 2008 this coffee made its first appearance by reaching the international jury stage, and this year is the second time La Nueva has been awarded Cup of Excellence. We celebrate what Rafael and his family has achieved - it is our absolute pleasure to bring you this stellar award winner.
